Who owns the kids

I am not an outing guy or someone who goes out at night often. I can actually count how many times I have been out at night say for parties and drinkups. The few times I have been out has not been fun-filled with lots of excitement. It is at night that you hear a lot of music, see fancy cars and lots of women. A worrying trend these days is the way and manner in which  underage boys and girls or teenagers flood our drinking bars and pubs.  A visit to a popular pub last night showed a lot of these teenagers drinking alcohol and ranting afterwards. I was shocked to see teenage girls drinking and smoking freely as if there was no tomorrow. I even saw some guys engaging in flirtatious and suspicious acts with some girls because they seem tipsy. Questions begun to flush through my mind. Who owns these kids and why would a parent allow his or her kid to be out in the streets at night especially after 10p.m. Why will bar attendants and pub owners entertain kids and teenagers at that ungod

Colorado Craze

I have been reading a story on how about 37 people including five college kids have died of marijuana overdosew in Colorado On Janury 1 the state of Colorado passed a law legalising marijuana sale for recreational use through statewide ballot measures. Under the new policy it is legal for adult use, regulated like alcohol and heavily taxed. First day, January 1 saw massive queuing at various shops  and malls where marijuana is sold. I was surprised to see so may teenagers and even adults struggling to make their way through the thick crowd just to get the drug. Reports since then hasn't been encouraging at all. I knew such a thing was going to happen. People are dying out of drug overdose. It's been reported that 37 people are dead and many more are lying in various hospitals and medical facilities clinging onto life in emergency rooms. 2014, another year

Another year is here again and we thank God for giving This year looks promising and innocent even though I think it is impregnated with all kinds of  stories, happenings and wahala, as usual. In light of all these, I have always had hope of a better year, 2014. People always ask why I have hope that this year will be better; My answer is always this, "I don't know but I have a feeling it will be." Last year was not really good for most of us, having witnessed so many accidents, armed robberies, corruption and so many ills of society. I am however encouraged that each year comes with changes and good tidings. 2014 has been declared by the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) as a year of Order. I pray to God that our lives will be ordered and in order. GOD bless this year 2014 and make things go well for us. Amen

Converts drown during baptism

I was drawn to a funny but sad story on the internet. This happened at Kinshasa. I curled this story from the internet and it is as follows: A dozen followers of a revival church in Kinshasa drowned after they jumped into a river to be baptised, local media reported on Monday. "Curiously, several half-clothed followers never re-surfaced (after diving in). They died by drowning," Democratic Republic of Congo's Le Phare newspaper reported. The prophetess who was to perform the ceremony, Thetee Kalangangu, fled following the incident, the newspaper said, while irate residents appeared set to destroy the sect's quarters in a poor Kinshasa neighbourhood. Where is our Christmas?

Many things have gone by this year, some memorable, others hmmmmmm with nothing to write home about. We've seen lots of political activities this year especially with the NDC, the NPP, CPP and other political parties doing their own things. Two weeks ago, I passed by some place around Jamestown. I saw some dirty children playing in the mud and riding tin cars around. As I approached them, one asked: Do you think there will be Christmas this year?' The other who looked too busy said, 'I don't know. Lets ask this man' So they called me. Their call was so typical of an illiterate child. 'Bro... bro... do you think Christmas will come this year? I was surprised at the question and inquired why they asked. They bluntly told me looking at the politics and all the noise around they don't think this year there would be any Christmas for them. Gala

Walking down from the GCB tower right down to the big station at circle one can notice the sale of Cd's and DVD movies. Being a movie freak and a lover of action movies, I drew near to one of these tables. To my uttermost surprise I noticed something. There was an open display of the CD with dozen names (PORNOGRAPHY). It is very surprising to note that things which are considered bad in society are given dozen names. Take for example 'akpeteshie' or locally brewed liqour. It has many names or a dozen names. The names range from 'kill me quick' to 'don't mind your wife' to 'show me what you got' 'man power' plus a dozen others. Seeing this, I asked myself if all was well in this country. I could not understand how come pornography can be freely displayed on our streets like they were goods. It showed how law enforcers have failed to meet up their task.

Breaking News: Ghana loses Finance Minister

Finance Minister, Honourable Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu has been reported dead. Sketchy information indicates he died on Wednesday in a South African hospital where he was rushed for medical attention late last week. Government officials have been mute over the shocking news of the passing of the affable minister. Government’s Spokesperson on Finance, Kwaku Kwarteng told Myjoyonline that he had heard the sad news and was seeking confirmation, while Deputy Information Minister, Frank Agyekum also told Myjoyonline that he was unable to confirm the information and that if there was any such development, the government would issue a statement. Radio stations are already announcing the Minister’s passage.
